Here is a look at this year’s award recipients:
Lydia Mejia – Child Nutrition Worker II, Yucaipa High School After 25 years in Child Nutrition, Lydia Mejia is celebrated for her deep experience and calm demeanor in the kitchen. Her nomination highlights her vital role on campus: "She is not just an employee; she is the backbone of the food service department and a mentor to those around her".
Megan Reasons – Yard Duty Aide, Ridgeview Elementary Megan Reasons has transformed the atmosphere at Ridgeview Elementary through her kindness and vigilance. Her ability to connect with the community is unmatched, as noted in her nomination paperwork: "It is no exaggeration to say that all of the parents in the community love her; they trust her implicitly with their children’s well-being and appreciate the genuine care she pours into her role".
Tim Kroll – General Maintenance Worker, Maintenance & Operations With a history of service that dates back to his time as a student athlete in the district in the 1980s, Tim Kroll is recognized for his exceptional work ethic and positive attitude. His nomination praises his approach to his work: "He takes pride in being accessible, responsive, and dependable, ensuring that the needs of those he serves are met with care, professionalism, and follow-through".
Cynthia Gustafson – Health Assistant, Dunlap Elementary Cynthia Gustafson creates a safe and welcoming environment for every student who enters the health office. Known for her empathy and professionalism, her nomination paperwork states: "She speaks kindly to all students and has a positive rapport with each of our students and families".
Cynthia Ridge – Intermediate Clerk, Competitive Edge Charter Academy Serving as the first point of contact for the school, Cynthia Ridge is known for her warmth and versatility. Her nomination emphasizes her broad influence: "Cynthia Ridge holds the title of clerk, but the impact she has on our school community extends far beyond the scope of her position".
Jeniece Meza – Paraprofessional (Special Education), Yucaipa High School Jeniece Meza is honored for her unwavering commitment to student success and her willingness to step up whenever needed.
